These interactive musical art panels and carpet design were conceived and created for the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, which was endorsed by the New York Times - calling it an “interactive paradise”. The art is a permanent exhibit for the Jazz Discovery Children’s Gallery, which opened in 1997.
The exhibit was designed to bring the art of jazz music to kids and encourage them to create their own music with “found” objects. The art was designed around many different types of everyday objects.
The children can also try to learn the Lindy Hop on the illustrated carpet.
