These illustrated art panels were created for the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center, located in Austin, Texas.  It is a permanent exhibit for The Let’s Pretend Dr. Carver! Children’s Gallery, which opened in 2005.  An interactive gallery featuring African American scientists and inventors, it encourages children to have fun with science and become an inventor for a day.

These interactive musical art panels and carpet design were conceived and created for the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, which was endorsed by the New York Times - calling it an “interactive paradise”.  The art is a permanent exhibit for the Jazz Discovery Children’s Gallery, which opened in 1997.

The exhibit was designed to bring the art of jazz music to kids and encourage them to create their own music with “found” objects.  The art was designed around many different types of everyday objects.

The children can also try to learn the Lindy Hop on the illustrated carpet.
